Baltimore Photowalk for Charity- popular vote contest!

On Sept 25, Lux Amoris hosted the 2nd Annual Baltimore Photowalk for Charity, to benefit the House of Ruth. You can find out more information on the walk at the main website: www.baltimorephotowalk.com. We met in Fell’s Point in downtown Baltimore, MD and walked, socialized, photographed, laughed and generally had a fantastic time. The judges are currently deliberating the entries to award the AMAZING prize package. (Seriously amazing… first place is valued at $3,850 and includes a custom designed blogsite by the talented folks over at Exquiture)

While the judges are working, I thought it would be fun to open the contest to the general public. Vote for your favorite image here! Click on the thumbnail to view each photograph larger to really appreciate each image and decide which one YOU think should win. This poll will be open until midnight on Oct 12. A winner will be announced on Oct 13, along with the BIG WINNERS (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). The winner of the popular vote contest will receive a $50 coupon code to Melissa Davis Designs. Please note that this contest is for fun and the results do not effect the decision of the judges for the main photo contest.

Feel free to talk about what you like in the images in the comments below! (just remember to be nice! This contest is open to both professionals and amateurs, from DSLR users to iphone and point-and-shoot users)

    • Tania says:  Jen, these are so much fun, I love that while you create art for families and friends, you also have an amazing view of the world around you . Love these!

This one’s for you, Kathy

Back in June, I had the honor of photographing the Relay for Life in Havre de Grace, MD. To say it was one of the most emotionally moving things I’ve had the privilege to work would be an understatement. The tone varied from jovial and triumphant, celebrating with those who have fought and won, to one of grieving and silence as we all wept together in memory of those we have lost.

If you aren’t familiar with the Relay for Life, I highly recommend you check it out at their webpage by clicking here.

A quote from their webpage: “The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.”

This year, they had 49 teams, 553 participants, and raised $64,869.73! Come out next year, and walk with us!
