Lux Amoris (pronounced Lukes ah-MORE-iss, previously Jen Snyder Photography) is Latin for Light of Love, providing luxury portraiture to Harford, Baltimore, southern Cecil, and northern Anne Arundel counties in Maryland. I aim to document and celebrate the love within your family– to freeze time– so you will always be able to go back and remember the particular look in your daughter’s eyes when she looks at you, the way your son’s entire face lights up with his belly laugh, the cute little fat rolls on your baby’s legs. I love preserving memories for others, telling their stories so they can remember in the years to come.

A session with Lux Amoris will be quite unlike any portrait session you’ve likely experienced. Jen Snyder specializes in the luxury family portrait in the Baltimore metro area, MD, so you can expect to feel pampered from beginning to end.

We will start out with a consultation over coffee. This will give Jen a feel for your family dynamic so she can accurately reflect your personalities and relationships in your portraits. You will see samples of the various boutique products offered, as there is nothing quite like running your hand over fine canvas to know without a doubt how you wish to display the art in your home. We will plan your session to suit your needs, merging your vision with Jen’s expert eye.

Anyone can place a family in a field of flowers, get everyone looking remotely in the same direction, and press the shutter. Instead of simply documenting how your family looks at a certain point in your lives, Jen will capture who you really are as a family by focusing on your relationships. Jen will encourage your family to break away from sitting in forced poses with fake smiles by simple play– tickle battles, leaf throwing, or rolling in the grass together. A family session will typically last 60-90 minutes, depending on the temperaments and ages of children involved. Portrait sessions are not rushed as the last thing we want is for you to look at your wall displays or albums and remember feeling stressed.

After your images are complete, Jen will travel to your home for your Portrait Premiere. We will go through your proofs together and create eye catching wall displays, and beautiful albums. This takes all the guesswork out of your orders as you will know with certainty how a certain size print will look displayed in your home, how a certain frame will match your furniture, and the quality and craftsmanship of the work.

In order to devote a luxury experience for each family, Jen limits “Your Story” signature portrait sessions to 32 a year.
